Is your floor wearing protection?
You might want to think about purchasing a special darts mat made of roll out rubber. This will help to protect your darts from breaking and dulling, it protects the floor and will save the floor coverings.
You can also mark the proper distance to the throw line on the matting, using tape or a sticker.

Darts games
A common dart game based on cricket is played in English pubs.
To begin the game, players toss a coin to decide who will bat first (players still have 3 darts as usual) and during each turn you try to score as many points as possible using the 501 scoring system but with a twist - as the only numbers added to the score are those over 40, for example if the score is 45, then 5 points (runs) are added otherwise the player scores nothing.
The other player (bowler) aims for the bullseye and scores 2 (wickets) for the bullseye and 1 (wicket) for the 25 ring.
Players take turns until the bowling player throws a dart that scores the 10th wicket and then the roles are reversed and the other player has an "innings" (turn to bat).
But you know how the English love their pubs and darts, so things arent that simple.
If the batter should land a dart in the bullseye or 25 ring, the batting player loses a wicket or two accordingly and if the bowling player throws a dart which does not land in the board, 20 "extras" are awarded to the batting side.
When both players have played two innings each the player with the highest score wins the game (match).
